Born in Mobile, Alabama and raised in Thomasville, Georgia, Camille Clyde has been an artist since the day she was born. Making, creating, and putting ideas on paper has been a fervent thirst for her as long as she can remember. Over time, she found that she particularly loved capturing the human face and form - we are all so different, yet so similar at our core, and achieving an uncanny likeness while maintaining a personal style has been a lifelong goal.
Camille grew up drawing and painting whenever and wherever she could - whether that be on paper, shoes, walls, or her own face. In high school, she won First Place at her local Deep South Fair for a painting of a Batik Fox. Later that year, she would win Honorable Mention for a promotional drawing of cats for Miss Kitty's Feline Sanctuary, a local cat rescue and adoption center. In her junior year of college, Camille would win another honorable mention at Valdosta State University's Annual Juried Exhibition for a large multimedia abstract painting. Being involved in her community's artistic events is important for her and she loves to foster relationships with other local artists and makers.
Currently, Camille works at her local hospital, but is a freelance commission-based artist in her free time. She often makes small portraits, pet portraits, and also sells her self-inspired work for people in her community who know her reputation for quality artwork. It is an honor for her to have her work hang on the walls of those she loves, and to have the support of the people in her region.
Camille lives with her husband, Preston, two dogs, Sprout and Ducky, and two cats, Beeka and Jelly. The house is warm and full and that's the way she likes it.
